Geosemble Names New CEO 17 Jun, 2008

June 17, 2008 Geospatial data integration company Geosemble Technologies announced today that Andre Doumitt has been named to the Chief Executive Officer role effective immediately. Previously President and Chief Operating Officer, Doumitt takes over from Robert Landes, who has served as CEO of the company since its founding in December 2004. Landes will stay on in an advisory role as non executive Chairman and senior advisor to the company. Doumitt, a former defense industry executive with BAE Systems and Boeing, joined the company in October 2007 and focused on growing the company’s commercial portfolio while expanding R&D work with the US Government. Geosemble uses proprietary artificial intelligence techniques to accurately marry vast amounts of online data with satellite and aerial map imagery. The uses are varied, and include helping companies leverage geographic data to identify new business opportunities, providing geographic context to municipal redevelopment agencies, helping newspaper and magazine publishers create accurate geo-context, and providing drill-down content for commercial and residential real estate customers. As a spin off from University of California, Geosemble has successfully converted technology programs from the National Science Foundation, the Department of Homeland Security and DARPA into commercial products used by a range of commercial customers across the US. In addition to its commercial ventures, Geosemble technology is also used by several government agencies for military image analysis, map conflation and integration with open source data for use in intelligence gathering.
